On 15 May 2026, Wroclaw Medical University will celebrate the 25th anniversary of physiotherapy education at UMW. The celebration will form part of the opening of the nationwide conference “Interdisciplinary Physiotherapy Wrocław 2026”.
The conference will take place on 15–16 May 2026. Its aim is to bring together medical professionals from various clinical specialties who work with patients requiring physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation. The program includes scientific sessions, workshops, and a poster session for students, specialists and doctoral candidates.
The official opening of the conference will also mark 25 years of physiotherapy education at Wroclaw Medical University. The inaugural lecture, entitled “What does the modern concept of comprehensive physiotherapy involve?”, will be delivered by Dr. hab. Maciej Krawczyk, Professor at the University of Physical Education, National Consultant in Physiotherapy.
The anniversary will be an opportunity to reflect on the development of physiotherapy at UMW, recall the key stages in the history of education in this field, and bring together the people who have helped shape the academic and clinical community connected with physiotherapy over the years.
The event will be accompanied by the campaign “Art Gives Joy – an art auction for barrier-free play”. The donated artworks will be auctioned on 15 May, with proceeds supporting children with disabilities.
The conference is organized academically by the Faculty of Physiotherapy of Wroclaw Medical University and the Lower Silesian Branch of the Polish Physiotherapy Association.
