The world of new technologies continues to fascinate medicine — almost every day we witness breakthrough solutions, drugs, and tools that have the potential to transform healthcare systems. Artificial intelligence keeps opening new diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities. And yet, as patients, we still too rarely experience treatment in the “hospitals of the future.”
It is often said that today almost anything is technologically possible. But is the medical world ready for it? Do its representatives have the necessary competencies and/or the time to acquire and expand them? When and how should education in these areas begin, and to what extent should medical universities be responsible for developing such skills?
At the same time, extensive reports and rankings are published every year, showcasing rapidly growing medtech startups and innovative medical inventions. It may seem that we have an abundance of solutions to choose from. But is that really the case? To what extent do they genuinely impact the healthcare system? Are these innovations and digital tools visible in hospitals, clinics, medical offices, or… in the lecture halls of medical universities?
Pervasive digitalization also comes with side effects, particularly dangerous in the context of medical sciences: new opportunities and highly effective techniques for spreading health-related misinformation have emerged. How advanced and dangerous is this phenomenon? How can we combat it?
Today we know that artificial intelligence will not replace doctors, but digital solutions offer hope for those areas of medical practice that struggle with staff shortages and organizational challenges. In this context, an important question arises: which aspects of the doctor–patient relationship (that is, one human interacting with another) can be supported — and which must not be replaced — by digital tools?
We will seek answers to these questions during the upcoming edition of the conference MedTech or TechMed? Driven by AI, organized by Wroclaw Medical University — Poland’s top medical university according to global rankings.
📅 27 November 2025
📍 Faculty of Pharmacy, Wroclaw Medical University, Borowska 211, 50-556 Wrocław
The event is held under the patronage of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Medical Universities.
The conference will bring together physicians, researchers, industry representatives, and healthcare system leaders to explore the challenges and opportunities of innovative medicine from multiple perspectives.
