The Centre for Postgraduate Education at Wroclaw Medical University invites you to a conference titled “Micro-credentials in the Education of Medical Professionals,” scheduled for Friday, 13 March. The event is organised in cooperation with the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE)—the National Agency for the Erasmus+ Programme—and the Erasmus+ Innovation Centre InnHub.
Micro-credentials certify knowledge and skills acquired or enhanced through shorter forms of learning, such as courses or specialist training programmes. They validate specific competencies and are issued exclusively by reputable institutions under clear guidelines that guarantee their credibility and high quality.
Currently, due to the lack of relevant regulations and certain formal constraints, micro-credentials are not widely used in the education and training of medical professionals. The conference will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss the current stage of micro-credential implementation, as well as strategies for incorporating them into the medical education system. Addressing this topic is essential to fully harness the potential of this flexible form of professional upskilling.
Wroclaw Medical University is the first medical university in Poland to implement a micro-credential issuing system based on the Open Badges standard.
Speakers will include representatives from medical universities, public institutions, and other professionals involved in medical education. They will share their expertise, experiences, and best practices related to the implementation of micro-credentials.
Participation in the conference is free of charge; we kindly ask that you complete the registration form available on the conference website.
We welcome everyone interested in shaping the future of micro-credentials in the coming years, especially:
- University authorities and staff at medical universities interested in developing micro-credential systems,
- representatives of professional self-governance bodies and other institutions involved in medical education,
- medical educators and trainers interested in innovative and flexible learning pathways;
- staff from international relations offices or departments responsible for international projects.
