Together with Prof. Aytekin Oğuz, President of the Contemporary Medicine Association (Güncel Tıp Derneği) in Istanbul and the leader of the Turkish arm of the Prospective Urban and Rural Epidemiological Study (PURE), UMW staff are jointly organizing a series of conferences to disseminate knowledge on the prevention of lifestyle diseases. Scientific cooperation between the national leaders began during the implementation of the international prospective cohort study PURE.

The program covers international guidelines for type 2 diabetes treatment, early combination therapy, individualizing treatment, and therapy optimization. It will also address nutrition for diabetic patients, lifestyle changes, and cardiovascular risk reduction. Topics include complications like cognitive impairment, lipedema, metabolic complications, and care for older patients with multimorbidity.
