“Move the Heart” Campaign
The “Move the Heart” campaign, led by Wroclaw Medical University, directly supports SDG 3. Its aim is to educate the public on first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Each year in Poland, approximately 40,000 people die due to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), with the vast majority of cases occurring outside hospitals. Immediate CPR provided by bystanders can increase the chance of survival up to fourfold.
The campaign includes first aid training for both students and the general public in Wrocław, and promotes the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Through “Move the Heart”, the University is raising public awareness and improving emergency response readiness, thus contributing to the reduction of SCA-related deaths.
