Equity & Inclusion
At Wrocław Medical University (WMU), we are committed to fostering an inclusive academic environment that values diversity in all its forms — gender, cultural background, race, age, sexual orientation, abilities and beliefs. Our Equity & Inclusion strategy is designed to ensure fair treatment, equal opportunities, and a respectful community ethos. We promote an open, safe and prejudice-free environment for learning, research, and work—building the foundation for excellence and innovation across our university.
Gender Equality Plan (GEP) 2025–2029
The Gender Equality Plan (2025–2029) builds on the progress made during the 2022–2024 edition and embeds gender equality permanently within the university’s policies. Approved by Rector’s Ordinance No. 47/XVI R/2025 on 25 April 2025, and endorsed by the Senate on 26 March 2025, it sets strategic objectives for gender balance across academic staff, researchers, administrative personnel, and student body.
Key goals of the Plan include:
- Raising awareness and sensitivity toward discrimination and diversity,
- Facilitating work–life balance and flexible arrangements,
- Supporting equitable career progression,
- Ensuring gender-balanced representation in leadership and decision-making bodies,
- Integrating gender perspectives into research practices and educational content.
