International Day

International Day comes to UMW for the third time this year. The date is no coincidence — the first day of spring carries symbolic meaning and perfectly reflects the spirit of the event: openness, connection, and new beginnings.

The event is organised by the International Student Council and students of the English Division. Around 600 students from all over the world are currently studying at Wroclaw Medical University, making International Day a unique opportunity to celebrate the many cultures, traditions, and experiences that shape our academic community.

The first part of the event will feature a parade of flags and student performances inspired by their home countries. It will be a colorful and lively showcase of the University’s international community.

The second part of the programme will have a more informal and social character. English Division students will prepare national stalls where visitors can sample traditional dishes, snacks, and sweets prepared by the students themselves, talk to them, view posters, and discover interesting objects connected to the cultures of different countries. It will be a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another better, exchange experiences, and build new connections.

International Day is a joyful and welcoming event whose main aim is to highlight the enormous value of cultural diversity within our student community. It is a celebration of meeting one another, building relationships, and creating a sense of community across borders.
