Florence Nightingale Lecture in Nurse-Led Research

During this year’s Congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), Izabella Uchmanowicz, RN, PhD, MBA, FESC, FHFA, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at Wroclaw Medical University (WMU), will deliver the prestigious Florence Nightingale Lecture in Nurse-Led Research.

The Florence Nightingale Lecture in Nurse-Led Research is devoted to scientific research initiated and conducted by nurses. Its name commemorates Florence Nightingale (1820–1910), regarded as the founder of modern nursing and the principles of patient care. Participants invited to contribute to this session are individuals with a significant scientific, clinical, and educational track record in this field.

Izabella Uchmanowicz, RN, PhD, MBA, FESC, FHFA, is the first Polish woman to deliver the Florence Nightingale Lecture in Nurse-Led Research, confirming her international standing in the field of cardiovascular nursing. In her scientific work, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at WMU focuses on the development of interdisciplinary care for patients with cardiovascular diseases, education, and strengthening the role of nursing in clinical practice and scientific research.

The ESC Congress is one of the most important international scientific events devoted to cardiovascular diseases. Each year, it brings together specialists in cardiology, cardiovascular nursing, health sciences, and clinical research. This year’s meeting will take place from 28 to 31 August in Munich. Izabella Uchmanowicz’s lecture will provide an opportunity to present Polish scientific and clinical achievements at an international forum.
