Social Responsibility and Community Engagement
Wrocław Medical University (WMU) regards social responsibility as fundamental to its mission, reaching far beyond education and research. The institution deeply engages with the community through educational outreach, wellness programs, and preventive healthcare campaigns.
Key initiatives highlighted in the 2024 Social Responsibility Report include:
“Poznaj temat rosnącej wagi” (“Know the Issue of Growing Weight”):
A public awareness campaign focused on combating obesity stigma and promoting recognition of obesity as a serious medical condition. It was launched via a parliamentary conference on 5 September 2024, co-organized with the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.
“Mów o sobie” (“Speak Up About Yourself”):
A mental health initiative led by the Psychiatric Clinic for Youth and Young Adults, aimed at destigmatizing emotional and psychological issues and encouraging early preventive dialogue.
