On 10 April (Friday), Wrocław will host Health Village – a free educational and preventive event organised by the University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław and Wrocław Medical University.
The programme includes a series of short expert talks as well as a practical part featuring consultations, tests, and workshops. The event is part of the joint USK and UMW campaign “Zdrowiej wiedzieć”, which aims to promote reliable medical knowledge and health prevention.
Health Village is intended for children, adults, and seniors – both healthy individuals interested in prevention and those seeking consultations, tests, and specialist advice. The educational part will include 15-minute talks on topics such as physical activity, epilepsy, mental health, safe use of medicines, seniors’ health, transplantation, and allergies.
In the afternoon, participants will be able to visit 31 stands prepared by USK, UMW, and partner organisations. The programme includes rapid testing of 12 blood parameters with immediate results, dietary, nephrology, and pharmaceutical consultations, first-aid training in epilepsy-related emergencies, workshops on safe tick removal, rehabilitation exercises, advice on newborn care, cervical screening education, medication reviews, and information on clinical trials.
Participants will also be able to learn more about the use of VR goggles in the diagnosis and treatment of children, check their blood pressure, discuss oral health, and learn more about conscious donation and transplantation. A special activity area will also be available for children.
External partners involved in the event include the 16th Lower Silesian Territorial Defence Brigade, the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime, the Police, the Climate and Environment Department of Wrocław City Office, the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service, the DKMS Foundation, and the National Health Fund.
