Record representation of Wroclaw Medical University in the World’s Top 2% Scientists Ranking

Wroclaw Medical University is proud to announce that 36 of our researchers have been included in the latest edition of the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists Ranking. This record-breaking achievement highlights the growing international impact of our scientific community and confirms the effectiveness of our research development strategy.

The ranking, prepared annually by the team of Prof. John P.A. Ioannidis at Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier and Scopus, identifies the most influential scientists worldwide – approximately 2% of all active researchers. The selection is based on advanced bibliometric indicators, including citation impact, authorship position, and co-authorship-adjusted metrics, which together provide a reliable picture of a scholar’s influence in global science.

In the 2025 edition:

  • 7 researchers from Wroclaw Medical University were recognized in the category of career-long scientific impact, which highlights their sustained contribution to medical science over decades.
  • 29 researchers were included in the category of scientific impact in the past year, with 9 of them listed for the first time, marking a dynamic entry into the global arena.
