Summer School “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Human Rights” at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (20–24 July 2026)
Undergraduate students from Polish universities have a unique opportunity to participate in an international Summer School dedicated to human rights, organized by Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) in Bavaria. The program “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Human Rights” will take place from 20–24 July 2026 in Erlangen, Germany.
Participants may apply for scholarships funded by BAYHOST, which cover the program participation fee, accommodation (6 nights: 19–25 July), as well as breakfasts and lunches.
The application deadline is 12 April 2026.
FAU – A Center for Human Rights Research
FAU is one of the leading centers for human rights research in Germany. The one-week Summer School program introduces participants to key theoretical issues and current global challenges related to the protection of human rights.
All classes are conducted in English and have an interdisciplinary character.
The program combines:
- expert lectures
- methodological workshops
- teamwork
- practical components
- study visits
Thematic Scope
During the Summer School, participants will analyze human rights from various academic and social perspectives. The program includes topics such as:
- universal human rights in a changing post-Western world
- the use of open-source data in human rights research (with a practical methodological introduction)
- economic, social, and cultural rights
- discrimination and inequality in contemporary global realities
- migration and human rights
- human rights education — principles, methods, and practical approaches
- human rights in the media and through the media
The program is designed for individuals interested in understanding human rights as a complex, interdisciplinary field relevant to academia, politics, and social life.
Who Can Apply?
Students may apply for participation in the program and the scholarship if they:
- are undergraduate (Bachelor’s level) students at a university in Poland — in any field of study
- are interested in human rights from an interdisciplinary perspective
- have English language proficiency of at least B2 level
