Wroclaw Medical University has been ranked the highest among all medical universities in Poland in the U.S. News Best Global Universities 2026–2027 ranking. The university achieved a particularly outstanding result in Cardiac and Cardiovascular Systems, securing 1st place in Poland and 14th place worldwide.
This year’s results also highlight the strong position of Wroclaw Medical University across several other areas of medical science. The university ranked 2nd in Poland in Clinical Medicine and Immunology, as well as 3rd in Public, Environmental and Occupational Health. It also placed 7th in Poland in Oncology, confirming its position among the country’s leading centres for cancer research.
The achievement in cardiology is especially noteworthy. Among more than 2,250 institutions included in the U.S. News Best Global Universities ranking, Wroclaw Medical University was placed among the world’s leading centres for cardiovascular research. This success reflects years of investment in scientific excellence, international collaboration, and the work of clinical and research teams that continue to shape the future of modern cardiology.
– The U.S. News ranking confirms that we have been consistently building a cardiology centre of global significance in Wrocław for many years. Our ambition is not only to publish groundbreaking research, but above all to develop solutions that genuinely improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases.
