Introduction Day

More than 100 international students have embarked on their academic journey at the Medical University of Wrocław as part of the Erasmus+ programme.

A week ago, during Introduction Day, our new students had the opportunity to get to know the University, learn about the most important organisational matters, and meet the people and discover the places that will support them throughout their time in Poland.

This year, the international community at the Medical University of Wrocław has once again welcomed students from countries across Europe and beyond. The largest groups have joined us from Italy and Spain, while our new students also come from Portugal, Malta, Türkiye, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Romania, among other countries. Their presence is a testament to the international character of the Medical University of Wrocław and reflects the importance the University places on international cooperation and academic exchange.

A First Introduction to WMU

Introduction Day was, above all, an opportunity for our new students to meet one another and begin an exciting new chapter of their lives. The event gave them a chance to learn more about studying and living in Wrocław, meet representatives of the University, and connect with fellow students who are also starting their journey at WMU.

Dr Zygmunt Domagała, Erasmus+ Coordinator, welcomed the students and introduced them to the key aspects of the Erasmus+ programme and their stay at the University. Staff from the International Relations Office provided practical information on studying at WMU and navigating life in a new academic and cultural environment.

The event also offered an opportunity to introduce some of the places and initiatives that play an important role in supporting and connecting WMU’s international community.

Welcome Centre – Support from Day One

An important part of Introduction Day was a presentation of the Welcome Centre, a dedicated space supporting international students as they settle into their studies and life in Wrocław.

The Welcome Centre helps students navigate their new surroundings, provides assistance with everyday matters related to living and studying in Poland, and offers a welcoming space for meeting others, building connections and becoming part of the University community.

Welcome Centre volunteers also shared their experiences and spoke about the opportunities that come with getting involved in the life of the international community. Volunteering is not only a great way to develop new skills, but also an opportunity to meet people from different cultures, exchange experiences and help create an open, friendly and inclusive atmosphere at UMW.

We are delighted to welcome another group of international students to the Medical University of Wrocław and to support them as they take their first steps in this new academic adventure.

Welcome to WMU! We wish you inspiring encounters, new friendships, academic success, and many wonderful and unforgettable memories of your time in Wrocław.
