International Clinical Placement Programme

Four students from the International University of Health and Welfare in Japan completed a four-week clinical placement at our hospital as part of an existing bilateral agreement. Their stay took place from March 28 to April 25, 2026, and was a valuable opportunity to gain clinical experience and become familiar with the Polish healthcare system and its working environment.

During their placement, the students trained across several departments, including Pediatric Oncology, Internal Medicine, Cardiac Surgery, and General Surgery. This allowed them to observe a wide range of medical cases, treatment methods, and the organization of multidisciplinary healthcare teams across different specialties.

The students’ stay was not limited to clinical training alone. The International Relations Office prepared an additional program enabling them to learn about other hospital clinics as well as modern infrastructure, including the Simulation Centre. This provided an excellent opportunity to broaden their knowledge and engage in academic exchange in an international environment.

An important part of the visit was also exploring Wrocław and experiencing Polish culture. The students had the opportunity to discover local traditions, history, and everyday life in the city, which further enriched their stay with a cultural dimension.

The organization and implementation of the program were actively supported by volunteers from the Welcome Centre, who assisted the students throughout their entire visit. Their help and commitment significantly contributed to a welcoming atmosphere and the smooth running of the program.

The visit represents another example of successful international cooperation and highlights the importance of knowledge and experience exchange in the education of future medical professionals.
