Wroclaw Medical University has been ranked among the top 4.2% of universities worldwide in the 2026 edition of the Global 2000 List published by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). Out of 21,291 institutions assessed globally, WMU ranked 8th in Poland, 328th in Europe and 890th worldwide.
The result confirms the university’s stable international position and the growing visibility of its research achievements. WMU’s strongest area in the ranking is research, where it was placed 848th globally. Its overall score reached 71.3 points.
The Center for World University Rankings publishes one of the world’s largest academic university rankings. Its methodology is based exclusively on objective indicators and does not rely on surveys or data submitted by universities. Institutions are evaluated in four areas: education, employability, faculty and research performance.
