The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) has launched the GCUB International Mobility Program (GCUB-Mob) Call for Applications No. 001/2026, offering scholarships with monthly stipends for international students from all five continents. The program enables candidates to pursue Master’s or Doctoral degrees at participating Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
GCUB-Mob aims to strengthen internationalization in higher education and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The initiative promotes academic cooperation, research networking, and knowledge exchange between universities worldwide.
Established in 2008, GCUB is a non-profit association composed of over 100 Brazilian universities and several international partner institutions. Its mission is to foster academic, scientific, and cultural collaboration and to expand global university cooperation through international programs and projects.
The program offers full tuition exemption, access to university facilities, and monthly stipends funded by Brazilian agencies. Master’s students may receive support for up to 24 months, while doctoral candidates may be funded for up to 48 months. Participants must comply with academic requirements, including language proficiency in Portuguese before completing their studies.
Applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree, submit academic documents and research proposals, and apply online in English, Portuguese, Spanish, or French. Each candidate may apply to up to four programs at different Brazilian universities. Selection takes place in three stages: document verification, academic evaluation by host universities, and final classification by a GCUB committee.
Selected students will be informed of their host institution and must complete all enrollment and immigration requirements, including obtaining a Brazilian student visa (VITEM IV) and international health insurance. Scholarship holders are also required to return to their country of origin after completing their studies.
The application process is free of charge and must be completed within the official deadlines published by GCUB.
